- 101 has been available across the whole of Wales since April 2009.
- 101 is the biggest change in the way the public can contact the Police since the establishment of the 999 emergency system in the 1940’s.
- The technical infrastructure which supports 101 is partially funded by the Home Office.
- 101 calls are answered locally in Police centres across Wales.
- 101 has been set up to work alongside the 999 emergency system.
- 101 is specifically for non-emergency matters.
You should still dial 999 when there is an emergency.
